Ikebana International Fair 2021
Honored by the presence of H.I.H. Princess Takamado, Ikebana International Fair 2021 was held at Royal Park Hotel (Suitengu) on Tuesday, December 14th. About 1500 people including Mrs. Yuko Hayashi, the spouse of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors and spouses of Ambassadors, Iemotos of Ikebana schools, TFC members and general guests attended.
The Chairperson of I.I. Fair 2021, the spouse of Ambassador of Angola, Mme. Maria de Fatima Xavier, and 110 committee members of the Fair have thoroughly prepared for the Fair by undertaking appropriate measures to prevent against the Covid-19 infection.
Ikebana International Fair 2021 has been authorized by Agency for Cultural Affairs as a subsidy project for the third supplementary budget project, “ARTS for the future!”. The Fair became a place for international exchange where you can learn about the culture of each country through the booths of the embassies.
Princess Takamado said, “It is important that we feel connected through Ikebana during the pandemic.” at the opening ceremony. We received a congratulatory letter from the Governor of Tokyo,
Ms. Yuriko Koike.
The Ikebana workshop was held, and the spouses of ambassadors and general visitors participated and tried Ikebana. The panels showing how elementary school students are learning Ikebana were exhibited.
