President Message
I am honored to serve my second term as the President of the Tokyo Founding Chapter. I feel a deep and ongoing sense of responsibility as I begin this term,
inspired by the distinguished legacy of my predecessors.
In 2024, “Ikebana” was designated as intangible cultural property by the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs. Our chapter will continue to share the traditions we have cultivated over the years with audiences both in Japan and abroad, and to pass on the beauty of Ikebana to the next generation.
In 2026, TFC will celebrate its 70th anniversary. On February 23, a national holiday in Japan, we plan to hold a grand commemorative Ikebana exhibition presented by Tokyo Chapter members at KKR Hotel Tokyo. Admission will be free, and we warmly invite everyone to come along.
In December 2025, we will host Ikebana International Fair 2025 at Hotel New Otani Tokyo, with Her Excellency Anna Alner-Bálint, Ambassador of Hungary to Japan, as Fair Chairperson. Ikebana works by Iemotos, the headmasters of more than 30 Ikebana schools, will be exhibited simultaneously, creating a truly spectacular sight.
I will do my utmost to ensure that this term will be as fulfilling and productive as ever.
If you are interested in TFC activities, please feel free to contact us through our office or via our website.
