The Ikebana International Tokyo Chapter Flower Exhibition “Honoring Tradition and Blooming Original” will be held. This event offers the opportunity to enjoy the traditions and uniqueness of each school within T.F.C., displaying beautiful ikebana works.

The 60th anniversary Ikebana International Fair 2024 was held at Royal Park Hotel in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, on December 10, 2024.
Honorary President of Ikebana International, H.I.H Princess Takamado was unable to attend due to the period of mourning for passing of former Honorary President, H.I.H. Princess Mikasa, however, Mrs. Yoshiko Ishiba, a spouse of Prime Minister of Japan and Mrs. Yuko Hayashi, a spouse of Chief Cabinet Secretary, 40 ambassadors and their spouses, Iemotos of 30 Ikebana schools, and the Fair Chairperson this year, Ms. Thai Thu Hong, a spouse of the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam participated with us for the opening ceremony.
37 countries and regions offered goods for shopping tables of which a part of the proceeds will be donated to those affected by the natural disasters.
To commemorate the 60th Fair, Ikebana International Honorary Advisor Ms. Etsuko Hattori offered a special comment prior to the event.
“Ikebana International has been under the continuum of Honorary Presidency by H.I.H. Princess Mikasa, H.I.H. Princess Hitachi, and H.I.H. Princess Takamado over the years of our activities.
Sixty years ago, Ikebana International Fair had started by a suggestion of Mrs. Kramer, first only with several members who brought some handmade goods for a charity with the corporation by the wife of Mr Kazuo Ishikawa, then the I.I. advisor and a president of Shufunotomosha company. Time went on, and it has grown to gather 1,600 people now.
Later in the early days of our activities, Iemotos of Ikenobo, Ohara, and Sogetsu offered their Ikebana works to show together for the same occasion, which was quite an epoch, leading to the origin of the I.I. Fair today.
Currently we celebrate the Fair with many members of Embassies in Japan, and a part of the proceeds is donated to help disaster-stricken regions.
We will be delighted to have your participation and corporation.”
2024年12月10日、日本橋ロイヤルパークホテルにて、60回記念いけばなインターナショナルフェア2024が開催されました。
いけばなインターナショナル名誉総裁 高円宮妃久子殿下は、前名誉総裁三笠宮百合子妃殿下の服喪のためご欠席となりましたが、内閣総理大臣夫人 石破佳子様、官房長官夫人林裕子様、40名に及ぶ各国大使、大使夫人、いけばな30流派お家元様、今回フェア委員長の駐日ベトナム共和国大使夫人タイ・トゥ・ホン様と共にオープニングセレモニーが行われました。
37の国と地域が参加してのバザーの収益金の一部は被災地の義援金として寄付される予定です。
今回は60回目のフェアとなり、名誉顧問 服部悦子様よりコメントを頂戴しました。
「いけばなインターナショナルでは三笠宮妃百合子殿下、常陸宮妃華子殿下、高円宮妃久子殿下に名誉総裁をご就任頂いております。
60年前にミセスクレーマの発案で、I.I顧問であり主婦の友社社長石川数雄様夫人のご協力のもと数人の手仕事から始まったフェアですが、現在フェア集客は1600名になっております。
又、I.I主催の初期例会時に池坊、小原流、草月流の3家元から同時出展頂いた事は、全く画期的であり、現在のいけばなインターナショナルフェア出発の原点でございます。現在は多くの大使館も参加されフェア売上金の一部は日本の被災地へ寄付しております。是非皆様のご参加、ご協力をお待ちしております。」

With the presence of Ikebana International Honorary President, Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, Ms. Yuko Kishida, the spouse of the prime minister, Ms. Yuko Hayashi, the spouse of Chief Cabinet Secretary, Ambassadors, spouses of ambassadors, and ikebana iemotos attended the opening ceremony. It was held with a congratulatory address from the Governor of Tokyo, Ms. Yuriko Koike.
The Fair Chairperson, Mme. Nuning AKHMADI, spouse of the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, took on the role of chairperson of the Fair 2023. The members and the visitors enjoyed the exhibition of ikebana by thirty-two ikebana iemotos and a bazaar with the cooperation of forty embassies, as well as the entertainment and a raffle draw held on stage.
The proceeds from the embassy bazaar will be donated to the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake on the Gala Luncheon to be held on June 3, 2024. For the raffle prizes, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the companies, embassies, ikebana schools, and members who have provided us with many attractive prizes, including Okinawa pair accommodation tickets with air tickets.
The fair is a good opportunity to spread beauty of Ikebana to the world as well as to get to know the culture of each country through the bazaar supported by embassies.
いけばなインターナショナル名誉総裁 高円宮妃久子殿下の御臨席のもと、内閣総理大臣夫人 岸田裕子様、官房長官夫人 林裕子様、各国大使、大使夫人、いけばな各流派お家元がご出席になり、また東京都知事 小池百合子様からの祝辞をいただきオープニングセレモニーが行われました。
駐日インドネシア共和国大使夫人、ヌニン アフマディ様がフェア委員長をお引き受けくださり、３２流派のいけばなのお家元によるいけばなの展示、4０の大使館のご協力によるバザーが準備されました。大使館ブースでの皆様のお買い物の収益金は、2024年6月3日 ホテルニューオータニでの昼食会に於いて、自然災害の被災地に義援金として贈呈致します。
また、エンターテインメントと抽選会もステージ上で開催されました。
ラッフル賞品には、航空券付き沖縄ペア宿泊券などを始め、数多くの魅力あふれる賞品を企業様、いけばなお流派、大使館、会員の皆様からご提供いただき心より感謝申し上げます。
このフェアは、日本の伝統文化であるいけばなを世界に発信するまたとない機会となり、同時に各国大使館のバザーでは、それぞれの国の文化を垣間見ることができました。

Wednesday, June 14, 2023 Venue: Hotel New Otani “Tsuru nishi no Ma”
The proceeds from the embassy bazaar of Ikebana International Fair 2022 have been donated to the “Turkey and Syria Earthquake Relief Fund” of Japanese Red Cross Society as well as to “Donation for Child Welfare” of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Bureau of Social Welfare and Public Health. We had the donation ceremony with the presence of H.I.H. Princess Takamado.
Following the ceremony, Ikebana Demonstration was given by Ms. Akane Teshigahara, the Headmistress of the Sogetsu School. The theme was “Conversing with Flowers”. Ms. Koei Sawada, Master Instructor of the Sogetsu Headquarters joined the demonstration.
At the luncheon, everyone enjoyed delicious food and wine, and the time passed peacefully with smiles and joy of reunion.
義援金贈呈式と昼食会
2023年6月14日（水） 会場： ホテルニューオータニ 鶴西の間
「いけばなインターナショナルフェア2022」の大使館バザー収益金を、日本赤十字社「トルコ・シリア地震救援金」として、日本赤十字社社長 清家篤様にフェア委員長チュニジア大使夫人より贈呈いたしました。 また東京都福祉保健局「児童福祉のための寄付金」に寄附し、都議会開催の為ご欠席でした東京都知事 小池百合子様からのお礼状を読み上げました。
日本学生協会基金理事長 長谷川敏子様には東京支部が贈呈いたしました。
その後、「花との語らい」をテーマに草月流 勅使河原茜家元と草月会本部講師 澤田晃映師範のいけばなデモンストレーションが行われました。
初めに澤田晃映師範のテーマに沿った時間の流れの中での語らいは個性と造形美で楽しく彩られ、その後、勅使河原茜家元の自作花器にいけられた華やかで動きのある作品、最後は茜家元の監修で御所車に金色に輝く竹と割竹を草月アトリエメンバー達が立ち上げ、300名の会場を沸かせました。昼食会では皆様が美味しいお料理やワインを堪能され、笑顔と再会を喜び合う和やかな時間が過ぎました。
