The 60th anniversary Ikebana International Fair 2024 was held at Royal Park Hotel in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, on December 10, 2024.
Honorary President of Ikebana International, H.I.H Princess Takamado was unable to attend due to the period of mourning for passing of former Honorary President, H.I.H. Princess Mikasa, however, Mrs. Yoshiko Ishiba, a spouse of Prime Minister of Japan and Mrs. Yuko Hayashi, a spouse of Chief Cabinet Secretary, 40 ambassadors and their spouses, Iemotos of 30 Ikebana schools, and the Fair Chairperson this year, Ms. Thai Thu Hong, a spouse of the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam participated with us for the opening ceremony.
37 countries and regions offered goods for shopping tables of which a part of the proceeds will be donated to those affected by the natural disasters.

To commemorate the 60th Fair, Ikebana International Honorary Advisor Ms. Etsuko Hattori offered a special comment.
“Ikebana International has been honored by the Honorary Presidencies over the years by H.I.H. Princess Mikasa, H.I.H. Princess Hitachi, and H.I.H. Princess Takamado.
The Ikebana International Fair began sixty years ago following the suggestion of Mrs. Kramer. Several members volunteered some handmade goods for charity in the beginning, with a corporation of Mr. Kazuo Ishikawa’s wife. Mr. Ishikawa was the I.I. Advisor and President of Shufunotomosha company at that time. Over the years, the Fair has grown significantly, now gathering 1,600 people.
Additionally, Iemoto Headmasters of Ikenobo, Ohara, and Sogetsu schools exhibited their Ikebana works at the same time for one of the monthly meetings that I.I. organized in early days. It was quite an epoch in our history. All of those events created the origin of the I.I. Fair to evolve to the present time.
Currently we celebrate the Fair with diplomatic members of many Embassies, in addition to our members. A part of the proceeds collected through the Fair is donated to support disaster-stricken regions in Japan. We will be delighted to have your participation and cooperation.”

2024年12月10日、日本橋ロイヤルパークホテルにて、60回記念いけばなインターナショナルフェア2024が開催されました。
いけばなインターナショナル名誉総裁 高円宮妃久子殿下は、前名誉総裁三笠宮百合子妃殿下の服喪のためご欠席となりましたが、内閣総理大臣夫人 石破佳子様、官房長官夫人林裕子様、40名に及ぶ各国大使、大使夫人、いけばな30流派お家元様、今回フェア委員長の駐日ベトナム共和国大使夫人タイ・トゥ・ホン様と共にオープニングセレモニーが行われました。
37の国と地域が参加してのバザーの収益金の一部は被災地の義援金として寄付される予定です。

今回は60回目のフェアとなり、名誉顧問　服部悦子様よりコメントを頂戴しました。

「いけばなインターナショナルでは三笠宮妃百合子殿下、常陸宮妃華子殿下、高円宮妃久子殿下に名誉総裁をご就任頂いております。
60年前にミセスクレーマの発案で、I.I顧問であり主婦の友社社長石川数雄様夫人のご協力のもと数人の手仕事から始まったフェアですが、現在フェア集客は1600名になっております。
又、I.I主催の初期例会時に池坊、小原流、草月流の3家元から同時出展頂いた事は、全く画期的であり、現在のいけばなインターナショナルフェア出発の原点でございます。現在は多くの大使館も参加されフェア売上金の一部は日本の被災地へ寄付しております。是非皆様のご参加、ご協力をお待ちしております。」
