Tokyo Founding Chapter November Monthly Meeting
Date: Wednesday November 12:30 p.m.~ 14:30 p.m.
Place: Embassy of the Russian Federation in Japan
Ikebana Demonstration by TFC members
Theme: Friendship through flowers
Through the courtesy of H.E. Mr. Ambassador and the spouse of Ambassador of Russia, Ikebana International Tokyo Founding Chapter November monthly meeting was held at the embassy of the Russia Federation in Japan.
The Demonstrators are as follows:

Ms. Miwako Tsuchiya (Hachidai Koryu School) - Ms. Shoei Fujisawa (Iemoto of Sousho School)
We prepared the program while taking various preventive measures against new coronavirus infection carefully. The program was a great success to connect people through flowers.

テーマ 花を通じての友好
ロシア大使御夫妻のご厚意により、東京支部は、11月例会を在日ロシア連邦共和国大使館にて開催いたしました。以下の４つのグループに分かれて、デモンストレーションを行いました。

October Monthly Meeting
Date: Friday, October 23rd, 2020
Place: The official residence of the Italian Ambassador
Ikebana Demonstration by Ms. Rishi Otsuka, iemoto of Koryu Katabamikai and Mr. Riko Otsuka,iemoto designate of Kkoryu Katabamikai.
Theme: Movement of Autumn
Through the courtesy of the spouse of Ambassador of Italy, Ikebana International Tokyo Founding Chapter October monthly meeting was held at the official residence of the Italian Ambassador in Tokyo.
We prepared the program while taking various preventive measures against new coronavirus infection carefully.
Mr. Rishi Otsuka and Mr. Riko Otsuka demonstrated the traditional Koryu style ikebana and free style arrangement. Also they exhibited several pieces in the residence and in the garden.
Sumie Presentation was done by Ms. Suiko Ohta (Japanese painting artist) at the dining room.

テーマ：「秋の動静
イタリア大使夫人のご厚意により、東京支部は、10月例会を、駐日イタリア大使公邸にて開催いたしました。この開催にあたっては、新型コロナウイルス感染防止策を徹底させました。
大塚理司御家元、大塚理航副家元は、伝統的な古流のいけばなと、自由花をデモンストレーションされました。また、大使公邸内とお庭に、作品を展示されました。
ダイニングルームでは、太田慧香先生（日本画家）による墨絵のプレゼンテーションを行いました。

Theme: “Flower power for the future”
Through the courtesy of the spouse of Ambassador of Sultanate of Oman, Ikebana International Tokyo Founding Chapter September monthly meeting was held at the embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Tokyo.
We prepared the program while taking various preventive measures against new coronavirus infection carefully.
Ms. Suikei Sakaguchi demonstrated five works in the morning and afternoon.
One of them was presented to the Ambassador’s residence.

オマーン大使夫人のご厚意により、東京支部は、9月例会を、オマーン・スルタン国大使館にて開催いたしました。この開催にあたっては、新型コロナウイルス感染防止策を徹底させました。
坂口水恵先生は、午前午後と5つの作品をいけられ、その内の一作は大使公邸に贈られました。

Notice of Cancellation of April Monthly Meeting
We planned to hold the April Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, April 21st at Shibuya-ku Cultural Center Owada, Densho Hall, the collaboration of Ikebana by Mr. Kosen Ohtsubo, Ryuseiha and Noh Play by Mr. Takao Yamauchi. However, considering the risks to the public health due to the continuing spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have now decided to cancel the April Meeting. Though we want to postpone this event in future, it is very difficult to decide the specific date at this moment. I would appreciate your understanding and cooperation. I hope the spread of coronavirus will cease very soon and we will be able to conduct the various TFC activities as usual.
４月例会中止について
4月21日(火)、渋谷区民文化センター大和田、伝承ホールにおいて、龍生派家元顧問教授、大坪光泉先生による立華のデモンストレーションと、宝生流シテ方の山内崇生様によるお能とのコラボレーションを予定しておりました。しかしながら、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大防止のために会合などを自粛することを与儀なくされている現在の状況を鑑み、4月例会を中止 することといたしました。現時点では、延期する場合の開催日を設定することが大変難しい状況です。何卒皆様のご理解をいただきたくどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
コロナウイルス感染への懸念が一日も早く払拭され、通常通り東京支部活動が行えるようになりますよう心より願っております。

Notice of Cancellation of March 30 Members Ikebana Exhibition
Due to the government’s request, the TFC members ikebana exhibition on Monday, March 30, at KKR Hotel Tokyo will also not be held.
At this time, we have not decided whether the members exhibition will only be postponed or whether we will cancel it entirely. We will decide about that later.
Please check this web page for the latest information.
We appreciate your understanding. We wish that health risks from the coronavirus will cease very soon.
会員によるいけばな展の中止について
3月30日月曜日、ＫＫＲホテル東京にて予定されていました、会員によるいけばな展が、新型コロナウイルス感染症の拡大を防ぐ政府基本方針を受け、参加されます皆様の健康と安全を第一と考慮して中止といたします。参加予定の皆様には、大変ご迷惑をおかけし、申し訳ございません。
延期して開催できるかどうかは、今後の状況を見て判断したいと思います。何卒皆様のご理解の程、よろしくお願いいたします。
今後の予定に関しては、ホームページに記載していきます。
一日も早いコロナウイルスによる感染拡大の終息を願っております。
IKEBANA INTERNATIONAL FAIR 2019
Olympic spirit and peace the olive tree branch has achieved wide recognition. In my country the olive tree is part of our lives since Athena gave it to the Athenians and Hercules made it the symbol of Olympic achievement. For the rich nutritious and healing effects of olives and olive oil the cultivation of olive trees was wide spread throughout the ancient Mediterranean world and today has reached other countries in other continents including Japan. The humble appearance of the olive tree branch, but with a powerful personality, that carries strong universal messages combined with a promise for a reliable life support make the olive tree branch an ideal vector for the message of the Ikebana art. Therefore, I invite all of you to be inspired by these strong and rich symbols to come to the Ikebana International Fair and experience all the wonderful flower arrangements from different Ikebana schools and by shopping at the Embassies’ booths to support the people who are affected by the heavy rainfall in Saga prefecture

オリーブの木‒ Κλαδί Ελιάς（ Kladi Elias）は古代よりオリンピック精神そして平和をもたらすシンボルとされてきました。
オリーブの木は、オリンピック精神と平和の象徴として広く知られています。女神アテナに授けられ、英雄ヘラクレスがオリンピック勝者への冠を作ったとされるオリーブの木は、私の母国では生活の一部となっています。 その高い栄養価ともたらされる癒し効果により、オリーブ栽培は古代地中海世界に広まり、そして今日、日本含む諸外国へ行き渡っています。
オリーブの木は華やかではありませんが、その力強い個性、生命の支援という頼もしいメッセージを持ち合わせており、それはいけばなの理念とも相通じることでしょう。
皆様にはいけばな各流派お家元の素晴らしい作品をご覧頂き、この力強く豊かなメッセージをご体感頂きたいと思います。また各国大使館のブースの収益金は、令和元年佐賀豪雨災害被災者への義援金になります。
是非、本フェアにお運び頂きますようよろしくお願い致します。

２０１９年１２月１７日に東京支部主催のいけばなインターナショナルフェアー２０１９が開催されました。
その大使館ブースバザーでの収益金は、令和元年の佐賀県豪雨災害、そして千葉県の台風の被災者へ寄付されました。

佐賀県知事 山口祥義様、千葉県副知事 滝川伸輔様へフェア委員長を務められたギリシャ大使夫人、イオアナ・ハリクリア・ヤナカル様より目録が手渡されました。
